Students Receive $500 Grant for Service Project
The "Knot in This Alone" two-part project by #WausauSchools John Muir Middle School sixth-grade students and staff is helping local kids in need of warm winter clothing and warm blankets.
The project is collecting new or gently used gloves, hats, boots, jackets, and scarves to distribute throughout the local schools and Wausau Police Department. The project also includes making fleece tie blankets to share with in-need families.
The funds for these projects came from a $500 grant from the Green Bay Packers, Everfi, and Brown County United Way earned by the students writing and delivering a presentation.
Thank you Highlander students Mabel Akey, Quinn Jerabek, Ellery Weddle, and Piper Weddle for creating this project! John Muir staff Heather Kessler, Heather Gallenberg, and Nicolle Behnke-Welke are helping advise this project.
